Position: Trainee Press Operator

Do you have previous experience od working with press machinery?
Pertemps are recruiting for a Trainee Press Operator to join our client’s company, based in Kettering, Northamptonshire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret job sheets accurately.
- Select the appropriate cutter and return it to its designated place after use.
- Attach the cutter to the magnetic cylinder and install the cylinder into the label press.
- Load materials onto the label press, and adjust the web guide and slitter knives.
- Set the cutter pressure to the required level.
- Optimise the press for efficient operation, minimising issues like labels detaching with the matrix or wrapping around.
- Use the label press computer to configure the number of labels, mandrel tension, and other settings.
- Produce labels or slit printed materials as specified in the job sheet.
- Monitor the press for faults and address them promptly.
- Package rolls of labels according to the job sheet instructions.
- Record the box type used for new jobs on the job sheet.
- Verify and adjust quantities of cores and boxes on the job sheet as needed.
- Log production times on the job sheet.
- Note any errors found on the job sheet.
- Perform daily maintenance tasks as outlined in the maintenance schedule.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean and organised work space.
- Report equipment issues using fault report forms and notify the production supervisor.
- Suggest and discuss efficiency improvements during team meetings.
Experience Requirements:
- At least one year of experience in a machine operator role.
Compensation:
- £22,000 to £23,000 per year, based on experience.
Work Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
