Sheridan Maine are delighted to be working in partnership with a leading organisation based in Bournemouth, who are seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join their team.

The Senior Management Accountant will be responsible for supporting the Head of Finance and able to offer expert guidance on financial matters as well as oversee the daily operations of the management accounts team.   They will actively participate in team functions and meetings on behalf of wider Finance, and will have ultimate accountability for all month-end accounting procedures. This encompasses the creation and management of our financial data, as well as the development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.

What we are looking for in the successful Senior Management Accountant:

-

Able to support year end statutory audits and providing information to auditors - Experience of working in a management account function, preferably in a senior role, dealing with high volumes of transactions

- Can prepare and deliver budget and forecasting/cost reports and opportunities to the senior management team

- Highly organised with exceptional planning and delivery skills and know when to delegate

- Excellent working knowledge of Excel and finance systems

- A full understanding of balance sheet codes and reconciliations

- Consistently looking for ways to improve process and systems as well as being resilient in the face of challenges or time-line pressures

- Confident and clearly communicate their work and findings, and respond to queries and questions from our stakeholders

Ideal attributes:

- A Qualified or newly Qualified Accountant (ACCA / ACA / CIMA)

-  Great people management and leadership skills, and works well in small to medium teams or individually when needed

- Have a pro-active and positive attitude to change, and an ability to motivate those around them

- Exhibit strong analytical and reporting skills

- Able to work with large amounts of data

- Professional approach, with a 'can do' attitude

- Enjoy problem solving and investigations
