Job Role: Motor Repair Engineer (Electromechanical Engineer)

Salary: from £40,000 - £45,000

 

Working hours are 08:00-17:00, Monday to Friday, with 30 minutes unpaid lunch and 2x 10 minute paid breaks.  Overtime is available and sometimes flexibility with hours is required.

 

Location: Leicester (LE5)

Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Motor Repair Engineer (Electromechanical Engineer) to join their team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of a variety of electric motors, including AC motors, DC motors, Pump motors, and Gearboxes. The Motor Repair Engineer (Electromechanical Engineer) will work closely with their customers to diagnose motor issues, determine the best course of action for repair, and complete the necessary repairs to ensure the motor is functioning properly.

Job Role

Your duties as a Motor Repair Engineer (Electromechanical Engineer) include but are not limited to:

- Perform diagnostic tests on electric motors, including AC motors, DC motors, pump motors, and gearbox motors.

- Identify and troubleshoot issues with motors and determine the most effective method of repair.

- Disassemble motors, clean and inspect components, and replace or repair damaged parts as needed.

- Reassemble motors, test for proper function, and make any necessary adjustments.

- Show ability and competently use star/delta control, wiring and configuring variable speed drives, and other control components.

- Install and commission motors on customer sites and ensure proper alignment and calibration.

- Provide excellent customer service by maintaining open communication with customers, answering questions, and providing advice on motor maintenance and repair.

- Maintain detailed records of all repairs, including parts used and work performed.

- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

 

Key Skills and Qualifications:

 

- Strong understanding of AC and DC motors, pump motors, and gearbox motors.

- Experience working with a variety of tools and equipment, including electrical testing equipment.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Willingness to work overtime and on-call hours as needed.

- Strong communication and customer service skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
