HGV Class 1 Driver - (5 on 3 off with Overtime Option)
Location: Lockerbie
About Us: With a reputation for reliability and quality service our client in Lockerbie is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to join their day shift team. Join them and enjoy the flexibility to choose overtime shifts or take some well-deserved extra time off.
Position Overview: As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods for our client. Operating on a 5 on, 3 off shift schedule, you will have the option to take on overtime shifts when available or savour the extra days off. This position offers both stability and flexibility, making it an ideal choice for drivers looking to balance work and personal life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, transporting goods throughout the UK.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and safety standards.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle's roadworthiness.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and paperwork.
- Collaborate with the warehouse and planning teams.
- Offer exceptional customer service, representing our client’s company professionally.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues.
Requirements:
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence.
- DCPC qualification.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work on a 5 on, 3 off shift schedule.
