Exciting Opportunity: Temporary Finance Support Role

Location: Birmingham City Centre (Hybrid Working: 1-2 days in-office)

Duration: 3-4 Months

Are you ready to dive into the dynamic world of finance support? We're seeking a proactive individual to join our team on a temporary basis. As a Finance Support Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in providing financial assistance to our team and wider business operations. This position offers the chance to make a real impact while enjoying a hybrid work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Post invoices and credit notes to the system.

- Investigate open purchase orders, ensuring prompt invoice payments.

- Reconcile monthly supplier statements.

- Maintain supplier and customer information.

- Ensure compliance with financial procedures.

- Chase debtor balances proactively.

- Record and allocate customer payments accurately.

- Input transactions and prepare payment runs.

- Assist with year-end audit preparation.

- Process staff expense claims.

- Manage queries sent to the finance mailbox, resolving them promptly.

- Prepare daily cash balances and assist with cashflow forecasts.

- Reconcile monthly balance sheets and clear reconciling items.

- Analyze expenses and prepare journals.

- Support financial controls operation.

- Monitor and reconcile the finance system.

- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for timely delivery.

- Maintain finance system records accurately.

- Monitor and collect records of gifts and hospitality for compliance.

Requirements for Success:

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling data.

- Strong numeracy skills.

- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.

- Experience in finance department operations.

- Ability to handle confidential data responsibly.

- Proactive, flexible, and responsible problem-solving skills.

- Strong time management and organizational abilities.

- Basic understanding of VAT and taxation rules.

- Previous experience with Microsoft finance solutions is desirable.

- Willingness to undergo further training for skill enhancement.

Pay Rate: Equivalent to £24,446.55 per year (Approximately £13.44 per hour based on a 35-hour work week)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid working model, with 1-2 days in-office in Birmingham City Centre.
