The English ECT Role:
As an English ECT at this school, you will join a dynamic, forward-thinking English department delivering to all age groups. The department aims to instil a love of language and literature, offering students the opportunity to engage with a variety of challenging texts and their wider contexts, and encouraging them to develop and articulate their own perspectives. As an English ECT, you will be responsible for planning, marking and assessments, which you will do in cooperation with your department. You will receive support from your ECT supervisor, who will ensure you are receiving appropriate CPD.
The English ECT:
To be eligible for this English ECT role, you must have either completed your PGCE and not yet finished your induction or be currently enrolled on your course and be expecting to qualify this academic year. You must have excellent curriculum knowledge and lesson planning skills, as well as strong behaviour management skills. You should have a good knowledge of SEN and how to support learners with additional needs both academically and pastorally.
