The Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Development Electrical Engineer to be part of a well-established team based in Leeds. As a leader in their field, our client take pride in their heritage and products whilst maintaining to achieve to be the most sustainable industry. This role is key to ensure that the functionality of the needs of the business can continue to develop.

 

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Development Electrical Engineer with a strong background in the electrical building of machines, including comprehensive wiring, control panel assembly, PLC setup, and programming. The role will consist of building, developing and commissioning production machinery to ensure that the business can maintain production.

Main Duties

- Electrical building of machines including all wiring, control panels, PLC set-up and programming

- Commissioning of production machines – both internal and external, including occasionally overseas

- Working with, modifying, and installing machine automation (Allen Bradley, Schneider, Keyence etc.)

- Developing and improving existing machinery

- Fault diagnosing and finding solutions to a wide range of electrical problems

- Specifying and sourcing of electrical components required for builds

- Working closely with the design and mechanical teams, sharing ideas and concepts

- Support production/maintenance engineers when required

- Develop engineering improvements and systems in line with the company’s objectives

 

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise (Ideally 5 years+), creative problem-solving skills, and a collaborative spirit. A commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and a proactive approach to challenges are essential for success in this role. Furthermore we are looking for someone who displays:

- Good communication skills

- Able to work under pressure

- Problem solving and diagnostics

- Experience building/fixing/running production machinery

- Competent at reading electrical schematic drawings
