What is the Role?

My client are looking for a full time Credit Controller in our Coventry office.

A suscessful applicant plays a crucial role in managing the financial health of our business by ensuring that credit is extended to customers responsibly and that outstanding debts are collected promptly.

Key Responsibilities Include:

- Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers.

- Analyse financial data and credit reports to make informed decisions on credit limits.

- Set appropriate credit terms and conditions in collaboration with sales and management teams.

- Communicate credit terms to customers and ensure compliance.

- Generate and send accurate and timely invoices to customers.

- Maintain proper documentation of credit agreements, invoices, and payment terms.

- Chase overdue invoices through phone calls, emails, and other communication channels.

- Negotiate payment plans and terms with customers to recover outstanding debts.

- Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers.

- Address customer inquiries regarding invoices, credit terms, and outstanding balances.

- Prepare regular reports on the status of outstanding debts and credit risk.

- Provide management with insights and recommendations for credit-related decisions.

- Work collaboratively with the finance team to ensure optimal cash flow.

- Monitor and control credit exposure to minimize bad debt risk.

- Ensure compliance with the company's credit policy and relevant legal regulations.

- Propose improvements to credit management processes.

- Investigate and resolve any disputes related to billing or collections.

- Collaborate with internal teams to address and resolve customer issues.

- Stay updated on industry best practices in credit control.

- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.

Your Skills & Experience

- Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar financial role.

- Knowledge of credit management principles and practices.

- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

- Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office applications.

- Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.

- A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is desirable.

- Professional certifications in credit management (e.g., CICM) would be advantageous.
