Responsibilities 

- Deliver proactive support to residents in temporary accommodation to rapidly move-on to suitable and affordable alternative housing options; such as PRS; Social Housing; Supported Housing; Sheltered Housing; Extra Care Sheltered.

- Manage the Move On Team’s caseload to ensure all aspects of support work is carried out in accordance with legislation, safeguarding, policies, and procedures. 

- Promote suitable and affordable alternative housing options; such as PRS; Social Housing; Supported Housing; Sheltered Housing; Extra Care Sheltered. to enable the council to end its homelessness duties; by maintaining up to date knowledge of the subsequent statutory changes, compliance with Code of Guidance and legal position with regard to discharge of duty, suitability, and acceptance of private rented sector (PRSO’s) offers.

- Provide high quality and comprehensive assessments and resettlement plans to the service users that will empower them to plan, work towards and achieve rapid move-on into PRS or other housing options.

- Ensure the provision of effective Move On advice and casework and support temporary accommodation residents move-on into privately rented or to suitable and affordable alternative housing options

Requirements 

- Ability to engage, coach and motivate teams and set clear targets and expectations.

- Significant knowledge and experience of delivering excellent customer service within a local authority housing and/or homelessness service.

- Significant knowledge and experience of the management of temporary accommodation teams and schemes

- Significant knowledge and experience of the implementation of the statutory homelessness framework (Legislation, Suitability Order, Caselaw), including assessments, prevention, relief and main duties, TA duties and accommodation offers

- Significant knowledge and experience of the implementation of national and local welfare services, such as Universal Credit, LHA, DHP, local welfare assistance program

Contract

- Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contract with the opportunity to extend 

- PAYE via Umbrella 

- Rate negotiable depending on experience 

- Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm Minimum of 2 days p/w in office + some visits around the borough to homes and TA sites
